The windows interpret Hangzhou’s mist and the lacquered Coromandel screens adorning 31 rue Cambon through two material gestures: the resin panels act as contemporary lacquer, created by pouring translucent and pigmented layers until the landscape softens into a drifting haze. The Douglas fir elements respond to emphasis on woodcraft. Sandblasting exposes the long fibres of the timber and the inked matte finish anchors the scene with a quiet, weighty texture. Together, resin and wood echo references to water, atmosphere and reflection within a minimal spatial composition.

A thoroughly challenging project involving over 200 individually cast art pieces + bespoke timber works.
